The first ever Solomon Islands National Urban Conference opened a new chapter in Solomon Islands discussion on urban planning and development.

The SINUC was officially opened by the Hon Minister for Lands, Housing & Survey, Mr Moses Garu. The Theme is “Reconnecting the Dots” has been reflected in the various presentations made during the first two days of the conference.

The first day touched on the global new urban agenda based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and posed questions on how these SDGs could be localized. The other presentations focussed on the new National Land Board, the challenges faced by the utility groups and provisions of service infrastructures to the new subdivisions.
